A Casual Kilt is normally only made from either heavyweight or mediumweight kilting fabric. It is fully canvas lined and has three straps making it visually almost identical to a traditional 8 yard kilt. The one essential difference, apart from the cost, is that the pleats are not quite so close together as there are less of them. There are about 17 or 18 pleats on a normal 5 yard kilt which are approximately between one-and-a-quarter and one-and-a-half inches wide.
These kilts are tailored in Scotland and are ideal for warmer climates. They are also an excellent affordable alternative to a handmade eight yard traditional kilt.
